In 2012, Annika left her hometown Helsinki to follow her dreams across the ocean. She started her collegiate career at the University of Portland but transferred to Old Dominion University after freshman year. She graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies (minoring in Marketing) in 2016. While playing professionally in Europe, she has completed her masters degree in Sports Management, graduating with honors.

Annika started her professional playing career in Germany, where she also competed in EuroCup. Throughout the years she has taken her talents to various different European countries such as Poland, France, Iceland and Spain. While playing professionally, Annika has also been a member of the Finnish Senior National Team since 2012.
